Walk to School Day
October is International Walk-to-School month, which Berkeley schools are celebrating on October 4th.
When: Wednesday, October 3, 2007
Where: From your house to Jefferson School
What Time: 8am til the first bell of school!
If you live too far to walk all the way, then join a walking school bus. See below.
We Need Your Help!
Walking to school is a great way to start the day. Getting exercise, walking and talking with friends, and creating less pollution and traffic around school are some of the benefits.
We'll have "walking school buses" that students can walk with, leaving from lots of different locations (more on that in a future announcement). Participants will be given signs to carry, and beginning at 8:00 am, there will be games and prizes for all students, whether they were able to walk or not. Students, parents, guardians and school teachers and staff are encouraged to walk to school, either all or part-way, on Oct. 4.
