Chinese Bicultural Program
For many years Jefferson has been home to the Chinese Bicultural Program, which includes one class in grades kindergarten through third grade.
The program is not a bilingual immersion program. It follows the standard curriculum set for each grade, including state standards, but seeks to integrate aspects of Chinese culture into the classroom.
Each year the classes join together to do a Chinese New Year's celebration, presented both at a Thursday assembly for all the students, but also for parents and community members in an evening performance.
