Dear Jefferson families,

We understand that many of you are concerned
about the current contract
negotiations between the school district and
teaching staff. It is a
difficult situation for teachers, students, and
their families.

Our PTA is bound by state PTA regulations to
remain neutral in this
situation. However, we can advocate for our
children and schools by
becoming informed in as objective a manner as
possible about the issues
involved. Our district PTA council will be
setting up a webpage
containing contract dispute resources, links to
school board emails,
the governor, sample letters, flyers from BFT and
the District. As soon
as this website is up and running, we will send
the web link to the
Jefferson community through the e-tree and flyers
to go home with
students.

In the meantime, we are posting below information
from both sides of
the dispute for you to review. Hopefully, by
becoming more informed as
individuals, we can put pressure on the parties
involved to settle the
dispute.
